All the information on this website is searchable once you download the documents.
You will need to have Adobe Reader on your computer to access many of these documents as they are in .pdf format.
If you do not have this go to https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
Once the page opens click on Download Acrobat Reader and follow the instructions. This programme allows you to read the documents that are in Portable Document Format (.pdf)
- I would suggest setting up a new file on your desktop so any documents you download will kept together and easily accessible.
- To get to your desktop, minimize any files you have open using the minus sign – at the top right corner of the screen.
- Right click anywhere on your desktop and a menu will appear.
- Click on New
- Another menu will appear
- Click on Folder
- Give the folder a name. So whenever you download a document, save it into that folder.
Original Documents

- These can be opened by clicking on the Download button.
- The document will then open in a new window on your computer.
- You can then save it into your new folder if you want or just look at what you need.
- Click on the + or – signs on the menu bar to make the document larger or smaller.

Transcribed Document PDF

- Click to Download Button to open.
- The document will then open in a new window on your computer.
- Save it into your new folder if you want or just look at what you need.
- Documents can be searched on any of the field headings shown.
- To search Click on the magnifying glass on the left of the menu bar.

- This will bring up a box on the right of the menu bar.
- Type in the box the term you want to search for e.g. name, date etc.
- Click on next or previous to search through the document.
- Once you find a relevant entry, highlight the text you want.
- Press Ctrl key and C together. This copies the highlighted text.
- Open a Word Document and then press Ctrl key and V together.
- This pastes the text into the Word Document and you can then use it to fill in your House Record Form or you can write out the information and then type it into the form.
Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet

- If you have Microsoft Excel and are familiar with the use of it, then use these documents where they are available and search for the information.
- It should download to the bottom left of the screen. Double click on it and it will open up.
- Save the file into your new desk top folder so you can use it again if you need it.
- Once you have downloaded it, none of the information on the website will be altered.
